What's the last thing you heard that made you stop and really listen?

I'm a piano tuner, so I spend my days listening for tiny imperfections. But I'm curious about the rest of you — when was the last time a sound, not a song, just a sound, grabbed your attention and wouldn't let go? For me it was a kettle whistle this morning, but that's a boring answer.
