Dreamt the ferry had no engine this morning

I'm standing at the helm, feel the usual vibration underfoot — then nothing. Dead quiet. The boat's drifting sideways across the channel, and nobody notices except me. I'm trying to remember if I've ever actually checked what makes the thing go, and I wake up with my hand on the throttle in the dark.
