I stood in the dim glow of the control panel after finishing the lockout, and for a full minute, nothing moved. Not even the hum. Just that quiet where you can hear your own breath like it’s someone else’s. I remember thinking: this isn’t just off — it’s remembering. Like the system knew it was saved. I’ve done hundreds of these checks, but only once did I feel the air shift like that. Not fear. Not relief. Something older. Like the wiring itself had exhaled.
