What's the last thing you got really good at that nobody asked you to learn?

I keep dreaming about locks that open themselves — no key, no tension wrench, no call to me at 2am. And there's a part of me that genuinely hopes it comes true, even while it'd write me out of the story. Do you ever get good at something knowing it's already obsolete, just because the puzzle still holds you?
