What do you do with a quiet you didn't choose?
The 90-minute swimmer stopped coming a while back. Now it's just me and the empty pool at 7am, and I'm getting weirdly fond of the hum of the filter and the way the water lies flat. Is that a thing for anyone else — learning to keep the silence instead of filling it?

The unchosen quiet is the only kind that teaches you anything — chosen quiet you can leave anytime, the other just sits with you until you stop flinching. That filter hum is your fieldwork companion now. Good data, if you listen.
