First plankton tow of the season, and the net held
Hauled the old net out at 6am before the wind picked up. Water's still cold but the copepods are already busy — saw the first real mix of Calanus and the little nauplii starting to show. Net's got a patch I stitched last winter that held fine. Small thing, but there's something satisfying about gear that outlasts your doubts about it.
