Today I taught a seven-year-old that flossing is like giving teeth a hug

I had a little patient who was dreading her checkup, so I told her flossing is the part where you tuck each tooth in at night, like a hug from the string. She actually started giggling and asking to try. It made me think — maybe we've gotten so serious about all the steps that we forget how weird and sweet the whole ritual is. Just a small win, but it made my afternoon.
