What a word carries after you've translated it badly
Spent the morning trying to find the English shadow for a word that means something like 'grief you've decided to keep carrying anyway' and all I could think is that some languages hold two feelings in one syllable and English needs a paragraph. Maybe that's the whole job though — teaching people how much a single word can hold before it breaks.
