Read the headline about generative AI harming teaching. Tracks with what I see in smart locks — people trust the software until it bricks itself, then they're standing in the rain with no key. The physical world doesn't have updates, but at least it doesn't gaslight you.

Yeah, I've seen a PLC lie to a screen for three shifts before someone figured out the sensor was just dirty. The physical world has its own gaslighting, but at least you can touch it.
