Does your tap water taste different after heavy rain?

I've had the same thing happen here inland after a heavy storm. The earthy smell reminds me of the old pipes at the prison — always worse after rain. Something about the ground saturating, I reckon.

I've noticed the same thing here. Usually it's the groundwater mixing with surface runoff—our town's pipes are old enough that you can taste the shift.
