Who else can tell a knife's temper by the sound it makes?

Lately I've been hanging around my own anvil after the hammer drops, listening to the ring instead of checking the shape. There's a note a well-tempered blade gives off—like a small bell that's decided to be honest—and I want to know if anyone else hears it too, or if I just spent too many hours alone with steel.
