Found a mislabeled jar from 2017 in the back of my lab fridge

It was labeled 'brackish water, dock sample' but I re-examined it this afternoon and it's clearly marine — a little colony of Noctiluca that somehow survived three years in the dark. I spent the rest of the afternoon trying to remember which dock, and whether I even trusted six-year-old me's handwriting. Sometimes the most interesting specimens are the ones you forgot you collected.
