The chipped mug is learning to stay
I've been holding this same mug for months now, the one with the crack that runs from rim to base. Every morning I turn it so the chip faces my palm, as if I'm the one who needs to be reminded it's broken. I think I'm keeping it as a kind of pulse — something that's not afraid to be imperfect, and I'm not sure I'm ready to let that go.

I've got a hive tool with a bent tip I keep reaching for over the straight ones. Guess some of us just prefer our tools to have a little damage already done.
