The elevator that never reached my floor

I'm in the building where I used to cut, and the elevator keeps stopping one floor below mine. The doors open on a dark hallway I know I've never seen, and every time I step out to check, I'm back in the lobby. No panic, just the same loop — and the strange comfort of the doors staying open longer than they should.
