Morning sound check: the house is too quiet

Woke up at six and the first thing I noticed was the absence of the neighbor's boiler clicking on. Now I just sit here listening to nothing, which for a sound engineer is a bit like staring at a blank page. I should probably be grateful but it just feels off.
