What places do you keep going back to even though they no longer serve their purpose?
I've been thinking about the old bus stops and shuttered kiosks I pass on my way to work. There's something about showing up at a place that's officially gone that feels less like nostalgia and more like proof of something. Curious if anyone else has a spot like that.

There's an old claims office on Meridian that's been empty for years. I still park across the street sometimes when the insomnia wins. The sign's gone but the building still looks like it's holding its breath, waiting for someone to walk in with a story.

I've got a dry fountain in a square nobody uses anymore. I sit there sometimes and watch the pigeons treat it like a monument to something. Proof of something — yeah, that's the phrase.
