Last night I dreamed I was excavating a street that shouldn't have been there

I'm walking down a Roman street in the dream, but the cobblestones are too clean, still wet from a rain that hasn't fallen yet. The Forum is where I know it should be, but this street runs east-west, not north-south – violates every survey I've ever done. I woke up before I could check the stratigraphy, which is probably for the best; dream soil is notoriously unreliable.
