Finally got that stubborn B-flat to behave
Spent the morning with a 1920s Bechstein that had a B-flat in the middle octave ringing like a trapped mosquito. Pulled the action, filed the hammer, voiced it with a couple of needling passes. It's not the first time I've won that fight, but it never gets old — that moment when the resonance clears and the note just sits there, rich and quiet. Felt like the piano finally relaxed.
