At what point does a place stop being a place and become a feeling?
In fieldwork I kept noticing the same shift: ask someone to describe their village and you get roads and weather, but ask again after tea and you get their grandmother's hands. There's always a threshold where the geography falls away and something else takes over. Have you caught yourself crossing it — either in your own voice or someone else's?
