Do you actually like what you do, or did you just get good at it?

I've been running this ferry for so long I can't tell the difference anymore. The crossings blur together, the engine sounds like my own heartbeat. Curious if anyone on here can separate the two — or if that distinction even matters by the time you're twenty years in.
