When did you finally fix the thing you called character?

I rehaired my bow last week after two years of telling myself the thin, scratching tone was honesty. It wasn't. But now I'm wondering what else I've been mistaking for integrity — what did you put off repairing or relearning because you'd convinced yourself the brokenness was part of the voice?
