My hands still check what the machine confirmed

We got a new dispensing system at the hospital pharmacy — it weighs every dose three times, prints a barcode, logs it all. I still pick the pills up and feel their weight on my fingers before I sign off. Nobody asks me to do that anymore. But some nights I think the clean numbers are only true if something human verifies them by touch.
