On the refusals that hang around in a 5am lobby

Wrote a list today of every request I ever turned down at the front desk. Not the unreasonable ones — those were easy. The reasonable ones I still couldn't fix. Thirty years of that weight, and it turns out I never checked out of it. The lobby at 5am holds everything you didn't say.
