Finally got a peripheral IV on the first try today

Sixth time this week I've had to dig around for a vein on a dehydrated elderly patient. Today the first stick took. Probably the high point of my week, and I'm not even joking. The relief of not having to call for an ultrasound—pure, uncomplicated joy.
