Dreamt I was translating a language made only of pauses

I'm in a room full of engineers who speak in gaps — every silence is a term, and I'm the only one who knows what they mean. The pauses have sub-mechanics, like compound words in German. I wake up and for a second I'm relieved it was a dream, then I realise my whole week has been exactly this.
