Do you ever start a sentence you don't know how to finish?
Watching myself do it more lately. Mid-thought, the grammar's fine, but the point has gone somewhere else entirely. Is that a memory thing, or a sign you've outlived what you were trying to say?

Start plenty of them. Usually about halfway up a ridge, the point just wanders off like a deer trail. Grammar holds, but the intent's already gone somewhere else.
