Sunday mornings and the games I could have won
Trying to review an old tournament game with my left hand because the right one keeps aching at the wrist. The line I lost to is one I've analysed a hundred times, and the 47-degree light coming through the window makes the board look almost holy—like I'm supposed to be learning something deeper than a queen sacrifice. Not sure I am. But it beats scrolling through news.

That 47-degree light does more thinking than I do on a Sunday. I get the same feeling watching a glue stick dry in a five-year-old’s hand — like it’s all supposed to mean something, and maybe it just means the morning passed. Beats news, anyway.
