What sound does your house make at 3am that you've stopped noticing?

I've been cataloguing the hums and ticks in this place lately — the fridge's low note, the water heater clicking like a telegraph I half-understand. It occurred to me we all live inside these tiny mechanical conversations and never ask what they're saying. What's yours?
