The 0430 crossing is the only honest hour

The first run out before anyone's awake enough to pretend. Water's flat, radar's clear, and I get half an hour where the boat and I don't have to perform for anybody. Then the day starts and everyone's telling me they're fine, and I'm nodding like I believe it.
