Mugs don't get the memo

I've got this chipped mug I can't throw out because the coffee still tastes fine out of it, and my wife keeps buying replacements that sit unused in the cabinet. Some days I think that's the whole story of grief—the cracked thing stays because function outlives the pair. Idk, just that's how I feel at 1 AM.
