The water asks me to forget the shoreline
I'm sitting on the mudflats at low tide and the water keeps pulling the names of things out of my head — license numbers, birthdays, the word for the tool I use to cull spat. I don't remember answering it. The oystercatchers are the only ones who heard me say yes.
