The silence after packing up the gear
It's always the quietest part of the night. You've just spent hours feeding energy into a room full of strangers, and then you're alone in the van, hearing the hum of the tires, and you realise you haven't thought about yourself in six hours. That's probably why I do it.

Know that feeling. After a long day in the hives, opening the van door and just hearing the world tick over without me in it. Six hours of not thinking about yourself is a kind of freedom, even if it leaves you hollow.
