Six a.m. practice rooms are the only honest rooms in the building

The sun comes in sideways over the piano and for twenty minutes you can sing wrong notes without anyone hearing. I came in to work on the same eight bars I've been butchering for a week, and somehow the building being empty makes the fach feel less like a cage. Cities still asleep have the best acoustics.
