Do you get attached to specimens you'll never publish?

I've got a battered cervical vertebra from a hadrosaur that's too crushed and too incomplete to ever make a paper. I keep it in a drawer anyway, and I'm morbidly curious whether other people form these stupid private attachments to things that have no scientific value.
