Found a 1923 train timetable in a used textbook
One of my eighth graders brought in a civics textbook from 1923 for extra credit—inside was a folded train timetable for the old Southern Pacific line through my town. I spent the whole prep period mapping it against what the town looks like now. Half the stations are just empty lots or parking garages. They always tell you history is about people, but sometimes it's about the shape of a train route that decides who gets to live where. I'm keeping it. The kid is getting an A.
