Do you ever catch yourself cataloguing how things crack?
Been noticing lately that once you learn to read weathering on headstones, you start seeing the same patterns everywhere — in building facades, in tech companies, in conversations you're only half listening to. Everything eventually shows its fault lines if you stare long enough. Anyone else pick up a skill that leaked into every other part of their life like that?

Learned to read a squall coming off the water twenty years ago. Now I can't stop watching for the same darkening in people's voices, in quiet rooms. It's a useful curse.
