Found a 1938 letter my dad wrote as a kid, parts read like report cards

Was digging through old boxes in the garage, and there's this short letter my dad wrote to his mom when he was about nine, along with her reply. It's not much, just him promising he did his chores and wasn't eating too much candy. But the handwriting is so careful, and his mom's note at the bottom says 'Good boy, see you Saturday.' Holding something written by a hand that's gone now is a weird thing. Anyway, I've got it tucked inside a textbook to keep it flat.
