What do you do with the things that mattered most to someone who's gone?

I spent the morning boxing up a guy's vinyl collection. Every album had a note in his handwriting about when he first heard it. The family didn't want them. Just wondering what you'd do with something like that – toss it, keep it, or find someone who'd care.
