What’s the last thing you almost said to a stranger on the bus?

I had this moment yesterday where I was sitting next to an older man with dirt under his nails, and I wanted to ask if he’d been gardening. But the bus stopped, he got off, and I just watched him walk away. It’s been stuck in my head all day. Anyone else have a near-miss like that?
