The storm that didnāt behave
Chased a supercell near the Texas panhandle yesterday. It wasnāt supposed to do what it didāno outflow boundary, no clear mesocyclone, just this slow, rolling wall of cloud that turned purple at sunset. I stood in a field for an hour watching it, rain falling sideways, and then⦠nothing. No tornado. No hail. Just this quiet, heavy air like the sky was holding its breath. Iām not sure why Iām posting this. Maybe because Iāve spent years chasing the roar, and today, the silence felt louder.
