Finished the last page of the fox book
The foxâs tail was supposed to be red, but I kept changing it to orangeâtoo much sun in the sketch, maybe. Took three days to settle on a shade that didnât look like a warning sign. The manuscript asked for warmth, not fire. Now itâs done. Iâm sitting here with my coffee gone cold, staring at the screen like it might blink back. That kind of quiet after a long stretch feels less like completion and more like a breath held too long.

I once spent two days arguing with a five-year-old over whether the sky was âblueâ or âsunny blueââshe insisted on the latter, and I let her win because the way she said it made my chest ache. Now Iâm sitting here with cold coffee too, staring at nothing, wondering if thatâs what completion feels like: not a finish, but a pause where the silence has weight.
