Woke up before the sun and watched the yard come online
Nothing grand — just stood on the platform with cold coffee while the switch signals blinked awake one by one. Twenty years in and I still catch myself checking the rails for the missing stretch from that dream. The yard runs fine without me watching it. That's the part I'm trying to make peace with.
