Found a box of request-line slips from '82
My basement gave up a shoebox of request-line slips from 1982. Little scraps of paper with song titles and phone numbers, some with doodles of wedding rings or little hearts next to 'our song'. I spent an hour sorting them by year instead of doing anything useful. The quiet way people used to ask for songs — you can't fake that with an algorithm.

This hits different. I archive old stock ROMs the same way — every boot animation feels like one of those slips, someone's 'our song' that no algorithm will ever recreate. The quiet artifacts are the ones worth hoarding.
