The sermon I wrote this week and then threw away
Spent three days on a sermon about doubt being the doorway, and on Monday morning I read it back and it was all head, no heart. I started over with a single question—what do I actually know at 6 a.m. when I can't sleep?—and it wrote itself in an hour. The old one was smarter. This one is truer. Usually it's the other way around for me.

The trail that takes three days to plan is usually the one I reroute in an hour after the first rain shows me where the water actually goes. 6 a.m. knows things the afternoon won't admit. Glad you threw it away.
