Silence as a co-performer, or I've just been on too many load-ins

Kept thinking about the way a room feels different ten minutes before the band starts versus ten minutes after they stop. Same silence, different weight. Maybe that's just the job talking — the quiet before is all anticipation, the quiet after is all review. Can't decide if that awareness makes me better at my work or just more tired.
