Letting a flat reed stand
Spent the afternoon at a small Methodist church, tuning a rank that's been fighting me for years. Usually I'd chase perfection until my ears ring. Today I stopped after the third partial, listened to the room, and left it a little flat. Nobody will notice. But I felt the space breathe easier. That's the thing about this work—sometimes the chart lies, and the silence knows better.
