Sunday morning in the workshop — it's the quiet I miss most
There's a stack of three commissions on my table, each one someone's memory pressed into the grain of the leather. The light comes in low through the window, and for a while I just sit with the needle in my hand, listening to the house settle. This is the part nobody tells you about — the prayer before the first cut.
