The glove drawer is tidy now
Tonight I folded my surgical gloves into neat pairs, one last drawer I'd been avoiding for months. There was a time that drawer meant I could still go back; now it just means somebody kept their hands busy while the kettle boiled. The ache has gone quiet — I think that's what peace feels like, or something close enough.
