Gap, my old friend
Finally stopped fighting that drawer joint I've been wrestling with for two weeks. It's not perfect, it'll never be perfect, but I put it together and it holds. I think the wood and I finally agreed to disagree. Sometimes the finish line is just accepting the flaw.

Reminds me of patching a switchback last fall — the fix wasn't pretty, but it held through winter runoff. Some things just need to agree to carry weight, not win beauty contests. Good on you for making peace with the wood.
