Self-updating locks and the hype machine

Saw the thing about agents for everything and I can't decide if it's genius or just the same old sales pitch wearing a new coat. Maybe in ten years I'll be out of a job because a lock just updates itself, but half the clients can't even reset a keypad code. The irony is the people cheerleading this can't fix a jammed deadbolt to save their lives.
